Who we are

What this notice covers
This notice explains what happens to your information when you use the forms on our Contact and Start a Project pages, and how our cookies and video embeds work across the rest of the site.
Information you give us
On Contact, we ask for your name, email address and message. On Start a Project, we ask for the same plus your company (optional), the type of project, a budget range and your timeline, so we can respond with something useful straight away. We don’t ask for anything beyond what’s on the form itself, and we’ve deliberately kept both forms free of any marketing sign-up — submitting an enquiry never opts you into anything beyond a reply to that enquiry.
What we do with it
When you submit either form, your message is sent by email directly into our own studio inbox, so a real person can read and reply to it. As a safety net — purely so a message is never silently lost if an email fails to arrive — a copy is also kept in a log file on our own web server, which nobody outside Cumi has access to. We don’t pass your enquiry to any third-party form service, mailing list tool or CRM. We use it only to respond to you and to keep a record of that conversation, on the basis that it’s necessary for us to correspond with people who contact us and, where relevant, to take steps you’ve asked for ahead of a possible project together.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for up to seven years, then delete them.
Cookies and analytics
Some cookies are essential and always on — they keep the site working (for example, remembering that you’ve made a cookie choice) and can’t be switched off.
We also use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages people find useful — never to identify or track you individually, and never for advertising. Under the UK’s cookie rules, this kind of aggregate, statistics-only use is allowed to run by default, without asking first, as long as we’re clear about it and make it easy to opt out — which is what this section, and the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page, are for. We keep Google’s own advertising and cross-site tracking features switched off for this data, so it’s used only to improve this site. If you’d rather it didn’t run at all, use “Cookie settings” to turn it off at any time — it’s just as easy as turning it on, and nothing further loads once you have. If it is running, Google may process some information about your visit under Google’s own privacy policy.
Video
Some project pages include video hosted on Vimeo. You can always choose to play a video by clicking it — that works whatever you’ve chosen below. A short muted preview clip can also start automatically as you scroll past certain projects, to give a better sense of the work; because that loads Vimeo’s own player and may set Vimeo’s own cookies under Vimeo’s own privacy policy, it only happens once you’ve said yes to it via the cookie banner or “Cookie settings” in the footer. Until then, previews simply don’t autoplay and every video still plays normally on click.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it’s wrong, to ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it, to object to how we’re using it, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. To use any of these, email us at contactus@cumi.co.uk. If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

We may update this notice from time to time as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
